x+2y=3..........(a)
2x+y=1..........(b)
Multiply eq. (a) with 2 to get eq. (c),i.e.
2x+4y=6........(c)
Now, eq.(c)-eq.(b) gives
3y=5 or y=5/3
Put y=5/3 in eq. (a).
So, x=-1/3
Ans.
x=-1/3
y=5/3
