Answer:

$p(x) = {x}^{3} - 3x + ax - 10$

x - 3 is a factor

Substitute x = 3

${(3)}^{3} - 3 {(3)}^{2} + a(3) - 10 = 0$

$27 - 27 + 3a - 10 = 0$

$3a = 10$

$a = \frac{10}{3}$
