x=3sec²A-1
y=tan²A-1
∴, 2x-3y
=2(3sec²A-1)-3(tan²A-1)
=6sec²A-2-3tan²A+3
=6(1+tan²A)-3tan²A+1
=6+6tan²A-3tan²A+1
=7+3tan²A
But if, y=2tan²A-1 then,
2x-3y
=2(3sec²A-1)-3(2tan²A-1)
=6sec²A-2-6tan²A+3
=6(sec²A-tan²A)+1
=6+1
=7
