On subtraction, we get
2y = 28
or, y = 14
Putting y = 14 in (ii), we get

Therefore, the required solution be
x = 42, y = 14
Now, putting x = 42 and y = 14 in y = mx + 5, we get
14 = 42m + 5
or, 42m = 9
or, m = 9/42
or, m = 3/14
