3x - 3y = 15 -  -  -  -  -  - (1)

DIVIDING EQUATION (1) WITH 3 WE GET,

 \frac{3x - 3y = 15}{3}

x - y = 5

x = 5 + y -  -  -  -  -  - (2)

Substitute (2) in x-3y=7

x - 3y = 7

5 + y - 3y = 7

5 - 2y = 7

 - 2y = 7 - 5

 - 2y = 2

y =  \frac{ - 2}{2}

y =  - 1

Substitute value of y in (2),

x = 5 + y

x = 5 - 1

x = 4

Hence,

The value of y is (-1).

The value of x is 4.

Hope it helps you out......

Explanation:

DIVIDING EQUATION (1) WITH 3 WE GET,

\frac{3x - 3y = 15}{3}

3

3x−3y=15

x - y = 5x−y=5

x = 5 + y - - - - - - (2)x=5+y−−−−−−(2)

Substitute (2) in x-3y=7

x - 3y = 7x−3y=7

5 + y - 3y = 75+y−3y=7

5 - 2y = 75−2y=7

- 2y = 7 - 5−2y=7−5

- 2y = 2−2y=2

y = \frac{ - 2}{2}y=

2

−2

y = - 1y=−1

Substitute value of y in (2),

x = 5 + yx=5+y

x = 5 - 1x=5−1

x = 4x=4

Hence,

The value of y is (-1).

The value of x is 4.
