( a - b ) ( a + b )  = a² - b²

So ( x - √(5/3) ) ( x + √(5/3) ) = x² - √(5/3)² = x² - 5/3

Also 1/3 ( 3x² - 5 ) = (1/3)×3x² - (1/3)×5 = x² - 5/3

They're equal!
