x + 6 = 4y..... [1]  \\ x + 10 = 2.....[2]

∴ The value of x is,

 \:  \:  \:  \:  \: x + 10 = 2 .... [from \: 2]\\  \\ ⟹x =( 2 - 10) \\  \\  ⟹ \green{\boxed{ x =  (- 8)}}

∴ The value of x is (-8).

∴ The value of y is,

x + 6 = 4y..... [from \: 1]\\  \\ ⟹( - 8) + 6 = 4y \\  \\ ⟹( - 2) = 4y \\  \\ ⟹y =  ( - \frac{ \cancel2^{1} }{ \cancel4^{2} }) \\  \\   ⟹y = ( -  \frac{1}{2} )\\  \\ ⟹ \green{ \boxed{y = ( - 0.5)}}

∴ The values of ‘x’ and ‘y’ are (-8) and (-0.5) respectively.
