X+8y=19.......(1)

2x+11y=28......(2)

from eq. (1)

x+8y=19

x=19-8y........(3)

Now, putting the value of x in eq. 2

2x+11y=28

2(19-8y)+11y=28

38-16y+11y=28

38-5y=28

-5y=28-38

-5y=-10

y=10/5=2

Now, by putting the value of y in eq. 3

x=19-8y

x=19-8×2

x=19-16

x=3
