X $ Y means Y is at 1 m to the North of X.
X Y means Yis at 1 m to the west of X.
If G is facing North and According to G#S$ Y* T, in which direction is T with respect to G?​

Sorry I don't know the perfect answer but I guess the answer is left/west.
