Explanation:

Solution :

Old Ratio :

X : Y = 5:4

  • X's Share = 5/9
  • Y's Share = 4/9

Z is admitted,

  • X gives = 2/9
  • Y gives = 1/3

New share of X =

= 5/9 - 2/9 = 3/9

= 3/9

New Share of Y =

= 4/9 - 1/3 = 4/9 - 3/9

= 1/9

Share of Z =

2/9 + 3/9 = 5/9

= 5/9

New Ratio=

  • X : Y : Z
  • 3/9 : 1/9 : 5/9

= 3 : 1 : 5

Hence,

New Ratio of X : Y : Z = 3 : 1 : 5
