Answer:

x can finish 2/3 of work in 6 days

x can finish 1 whole work in 6÷2/3= 6×3/2 = 9 days

x can finish 1/9 of work in day

y can finish 3/4 of work in 9 days

y can finish 1 whole work in 9÷3/4 =9×4/3= 12 days

y can finish 1/12 part of work in 1 day

work done by X and y in 1 day

= 1/9 + 1/12 = 4+3/36 = 7/36

work done by x and y in 2 days = 2× 7/36 = 7/18

remaining work = 1 - 7/18 = 11/18

x does 1/9 part of work in 1 day

x does 11/18 part of work in 9×11/18 = 11/2 = 5 1/2 days

x does remaining part of work in 5 1/2 days
