X +Y = 5......(1)

2X +2Y = 10......(2)

From equation 1 we get,

X +Y = 5

X = 5-Y.......(3)

Putting the value of X in equation (2)

2X +2Y = 10

2 × (5-Y) +2Y = 10

10 -2Y +2Y = 10

-2Y and +2Y get cancelled.

10 = 10

LHS = RHS= 10
