▪${x + \frac{1}{x} }^{2} = x + \frac{1}{ {x}^{2} } + 2$

▪${x + \frac{1}{x} }^{2} = 7 + 2$

▪$x + \frac{1}{x} = \sqrt{9}$

$x + \frac{1}{x} = 3$
