GIVEN THAT :-

X=(9-√5)

NOW PUT THIS VALUE IN THE EQUATION

[tex] {x}^{2} - 18x + 84 = 0 \\ = > (9 - 3 \sqrt{5} )^{2} - 18(9 - 3 \sqrt{5}) + 84 \\ = > 81 + 45 - 54\sqrt{5} - 162 + 54 \sqrt{5} + 84 \\ = > 99+81-162\\ = > 180-162=28
