Answer:

5-4 = 1

hence

x-y should also be 1

so we can say that x and y are continous numbers i.e they are just 1 above or below each other in their numeric value

as x -y =1

we can say that x is greater than y

so x= y+1

also

by puting this value

y+1-y =1

1=1

hence proved
