GIVEN :

The equation is X upon 3 + 5 upon 2 is equal to minus 3 upon 2

TO FIND :

The value of X in the given equation.

SOLUTION :

Given that the equation is X upon 3 + 5 upon 2 is equal to minus 3 upon 2

Given equation can be written as,

\frac{X}{3}+\frac{5}{2}=-\frac{3}{2}

Now simplify the given equation as below :

\frac{X(2)+5(3)}{3(2)}=-\frac{3}{2}

\frac{2X+15}{6}=-\frac{3}{2}

(2X+15)\times 2=-3\times 6

By using the Distributive property :

(a+b)x=ax+bx

2X(2)+15(2)=-18

4X+30=-18

4X=-18-30

By adding the like terms we get,

4X=-48

X=-\frac{48}{4}

=-12

∴ X=-12

∴ the value of X in the given equation is -12
