Probably we need to factorize the given polynomial.

x ^ 2 - 2x - 99

Splitting the middle term,

= > x ^ 2 + 9x - 11x - 99

Taking out common factors,

= > x ( x + 9 ) - 11 ( x + 9 )

Again taking out common factors,

= > ( x + 9 ) ( x - 11 )

Therefore,

The required answer is ( x + 9 ) ( x - 11 ) .

x² - 2x - 99

USING QUADRATIC FORMULA U CAN FIND ROOTS EASILY I.E
X = -b + √ b² - 4 ac/2

=> X= -(-2) {+}√2² - 4(99)(-1)/2...........(1)

=> 2 + √4 +396 /2
=> 2 +√400/2
=>2+20/2
=>22/2
=>11

SIMPLY TO FIND NEXT ROOT REOLACE THE {+} ...in (1)by - sign and solve to get the next root
