after solving the linear equation we had to find the sqaure root of one.

a sqaure root of a no. can be it's positive sqaure root or negative sqaure root.

for example: sqaure root of 4 can be:

2 because 2×2=4

and also (-2) because (-2)×(-2)=4

similarly in this question the square root of 1 was -1 and 1

but usually in an unlikely situation we only consider the positive sqaure root......we took the negative square root here because we had to take all the possibilities.
