x(x+z) - y(y+z)

= x² +xz - y² - yz

= x² - y² + xz - yz

= (x + y)(x - y) + z(x - y)
__[since x² - y² =(x+y) (x-y)] ___

=(x-y) {(x+y) +z}
__[taking (x-y) common] __
