x + y = 11     ......................(1)
x*y = 30
y = 30/x        .........................(2)
 
        substituting (2) in (1) we get
                           x + 30/x = 11
                           x^2 +30 = 11x
                           x^2 - 11x +30
                           x^2 - 6x - 5x +30
                           x(x-6)-5(x-6)
                           (x-5)(x-6)
   therefore, 
                     if x = 5 then y = 6
             and if x= 6 then y = 5

x+y=11.
x=11-y. and put value of x in x*y=30
(11-y)y = 30
11y-y2=30
y2-11y+30=0
y2-5y-6y+30=0
y(y-5)-6(y-5)=0
so y=5 and 6
and x= 6 and 5
