x + y = 11 ......................(1)
x*y = 30
y = 30/x .........................(2)
substituting (2) in (1) we get
x + 30/x = 11
x^2 +30 = 11x
x^2 - 11x +30
x^2 - 6x - 5x +30
x(x-6)-5(x-6)
(x-5)(x-6)
therefore,
if x = 5 then y = 6
and if x= 6 then y = 5
x*y = 30
y = 30/x .........................(2)
substituting (2) in (1) we get
x + 30/x = 11
x^2 +30 = 11x
x^2 - 11x +30
x^2 - 6x - 5x +30
x(x-6)-5(x-6)
(x-5)(x-6)
therefore,
if x = 5 then y = 6
and if x= 6 then y = 5

x+y=11.
x=11-y. and put value of x in x*y=30
(11-y)y = 30
11y-y2=30
y2-11y+30=0
y2-5y-6y+30=0
y(y-5)-6(y-5)=0
so y=5 and 6
and x= 6 and 5
x=11-y. and put value of x in x*y=30
(11-y)y = 30
11y-y2=30
y2-11y+30=0
y2-5y-6y+30=0
y(y-5)-6(y-5)=0
so y=5 and 6
and x= 6 and 5
