There are many answers for this question. Well, this type of questions don't come in any exam. Even if comes, they are to confuse.

Ok, still I'll tell you some solutions,

(i)    If x = 0,

then 0+ y = 14

 y = 14

(ii)    If y = 1.

then x + 1 = 14.

take 1 towards RHS (Right hand side)

so, x = 14 -1  [+1 becomes - when it goes from left to right side of equation]

x = 13

Just like that, there are many possible solutions for this question.
