Answer:

x - y = 3

so, x - y - 3 = 0

let 1 = a1

let -1 = b1

let -3 = c1

2x - y = 11

so,

2x - y - 11 = 0

let 2 = a2

let -1 = b2

let -11 = c2

x/(b1 * c2) - (b2 * c1)     =    y/(c1 * a2) - (c2 * a1)     =    1/(a1 *b2) - (a2 * b1)

so,

x/(-1)(-11) - (-1)(-3)         =        y/(-3)(2) - (-11)(1)      =    1/(1)(-1) - (2)(-1)

x/ 11 - 3       =    y/  -6 + 11    =  1/ -1 + 2

x/8  =  y/5  =  1/1

so,

x = 8/1 = 8

y = 5/1 = 5

Therefore,

x = 8    and

y = 5
