x-y = 4-------(2)

x = 7/2
So,
Putting value of x in equation first,
x+y= 3----------(1)
7/2 + y = 3
y = 3-(7/2)
y = (6-7)/2
y= -1/2
So, values of x and y are
x's 7/2 =3.5
y's -1/2 = -0.5
