TO FIND :

x and y

SOLUTION :

Subtract equations (1) and (2),,

(1) => x - y = -4

(2) => x - 3y = -16

2y = 12

y = 12 /2

y = 6

Substitute the value of y = 6 in equation (1),,,

(1) => x - 6 = -4

x = 6 - 4

x = 2

The value of x and y are 2 and 6
