Considering the first statement,

x+y=56

x=56-y---(i)

Considering the second statement,

x-y=28

Substituting (i) in above statement

56-y-y=28

56-2y=28

2(28-y)=28

28-y=14

28-14=y

y=14

Substituting the value of y in (i)

x=56-14=42

Now, back to your question,

x/y=42/14=3

✌️ hope it helps✌️❤️

Hi.. ^_ ^

GIVEN HERE:-

==>x+y=56. ...(1).

==>x-y=28. ....(2).

by equation (2).

we get

. x= 28+y. ...(3)

put value in (1).

==>28+y +y= 56

==>. 2y=28

==>. y= 14.

put value of y in (3).

==>x= 14+28

==>x=42.

Thus:-

value of x=42

value of y=14.

now calculat;-

==>x÷y=42÷14

==>x÷y=3.

I hopes its helps u.
