consider ,
x+y=5.......... l)
2x-3y=4...... II)
let, x=5-y
then, putting the value of 'x' in ll) , we get;
2(5-y)-3y=4
10-2y-3y=4
10-5y=4
-5y=4-10
y=6/5

putting the value of y in l)
x+6/5=5
X=5-6/5
x=19/5

Hoping it will work!!

Her is your answer,
x+y=5   ------------------1
2x-3y=4 -------------------2
x=5-y   ---------------------3
now,
substituting the value of x in equation 2
2(5-y)-3y=4
10-2y-3y=4
-5y=-6
y=6/5
now substituting value of y in equation 3
x=5-y
x=5-6/5
x=19/5
Hence value of x and y is 19/5 and 6/5 respectively.
                Hope It Helps ^_^
