x-y=6 and xy=8 find x2+y2

x²+y²

= (x-y)² + 2xy

= 6² + 16

= 36+16

= 52

(x-y)^2=36
x^2+y^2-2xy=36
x^2+y^2=36+2*8
x^2+y^2=52
