X,Y and Z together can do a piece of work in 8 days,while X and Z together can do it in 12 days.How long will Y alone take to do the same work​

Therefore their one day work will be = 1/8

Hence, 1/X + 1/Y + 1/Z = 1/8 -------(eq 1)

Now, X and Z do a peice of work in = 12 days

Therefore their one day work = 1/12

1/X + 1/Z = 1/12 - - - - - - ( eq 2)1

Now substitute the value in (eq 1)

1/X + 1/Y + 1/Z= 1/8

1/Y + 1/12 = 1/8

1/Y = 1/8 - 1/12

1/Y = 1/24

Hence, Y alone take 24 days to do the same work.
