As we can see the cofficient of x is 1 and the constant value is -42

Now 1×-42=-42

So we beed to devide the coefficient of x in such a way so that it multiplies to be -42 and adds up to be 11

  1. x^2-11x-42
  2. x^2-14x+3x-42
  3. x(x-14)+3(x-14)
  4. (x-14)(x+3)

Further more its roots are 14 and -3
