x²-6x+a =0 have equal roots

If roots are equal then discriminant=b²-4ac

therefore B²-4AC

A=1 B= -6 C=a

36-4a=0

36=4a

a=9

Solution:

x^2 - 6x + a = 0

If x = 3 (equal roots)

x^2 - 6x + a = 0

3^2 - 6(3) + a = 0

9 - 18 + a = 0

-9 + a = 0

a = 9

Therefore, x^2 - 6x + 9 = 0
(x - 3) (x - 3) = 0

x = 3

Hope this will be helpful.
