x^2 - y^2 - 2x + 2y \\ \\ = x^2 - y^2 - (2x - 2y) \\ \\ = (x + y)(x - y) - 2(x - y) \\ \\ = \bold{(x + y - 2)(x - y)} \\ \\ \\ \therefore\ x^2 - y^2 - 2x + 2y = (x + y - 2)(x - y) \\ \\ \\
