Hi ,
x³ - x² + ax + x - a - 1
Rearranging the terms ,
= x³ + ax + x - x² - a - 1
= x ( x² + a + 1 ) - 1 ( x² + a + 1 )
= ( x² + a + 1 ) ( x - 1 )
I hope this helps you.

Hi friend!!
x³-x²+ax+x-a-1
=x³+ax+x-x²-a-1
=x(x²+a+1)-1(x²+a+1)
=(x-1)(x²+a+1)
Therefore, (x-1) and (x²+a+1) are the required factors.
I hope this will help u ;)
