f(1) = 1^4 - 3* 1² + 2

    = 1 - 3 + 2

    =0

      = 1 - 3 + 2

      = 0

Therefore (x-1) and (x+1) are factors of f(x)

Thus (x-1)(x+1) is also a factor which means x²-1 is a factor of f(x)
