Solution :

(y+3)(y-3) - y(y+5) = 6

=> ( y² - 3² ) - y² - 5y = 6

=> y² - 9 - y² - 5y = 6

=> -5y = 6 + 9

=> -5y = 15

=> y = 15/(-5)

=> y = -3

here is ur answer:

(y + 3)(y - 3) - y(y + 5) = 6 \\  \\   {y}^{2}  -  {3}^{2}  -  {y}^{2}   - 5y =6 \\  \\  - 9 - 5y = 6 \\  \\ 5y =  - 9 - 6 \\  \\ 5y =  - 15 \\  \\ y  = -  \frac{15}{5}  \\  \\ y =  - 3

hope it helps you!
