 \frac{y - 4}{3} + 3y = 4 \\ \frac{y - 4 + 9y}{3} = 4 \\ y - 4 + 9y = 4 \times 3 \\ 10y - 4 = 12 \\ 10y = 12 + 4 = 16 \\ y = 16 \div 10 = 1.6
