Hie!!

Given Question is y = { x + 1/x }²

y = { (x)² + (1/x)² + 2(x) (1/x) }

Becoz ( a + b )² = + + 2ab

y = x + 1/x + 2

Now, Differentiate both sides w.r.t x we have.

dy/dx = 1 - 1/

Note:-

Differentiation of 1/x or x-¹ w.r.t x is

-1( x-² ) = -1/

Becoz Differentiation of xⁿ w.r.t x is

nxⁿ-¹

-------------------------------------------------------

If The questions is like this find dy/dy

Then

y = x + 1/x + 2

y = y

Now, Differentiate both sides w.r.t. y we have

dy/dy = 1
