x = 19 and y = 15

y = x - 5

5 = x -y

y = 2x + 4

-4 = 2x - y

now the answer begins

x - y = 5 × 2

2x - y = -4 × 1

make x coefficients equal

2x - 2y = 10

2x - y = - 4 ( change symbols 2nd equation )

_____________________________________________

2x - 2y = 10

-2x + y = 4

__________

1y = 14

y = 14

__________

substitute y value in 1st equation

x - y = 5

x - 14 = 5

x = 5 + 14

x = 19

checking : substitute x and y value in 1st equation

x - y = 5

19 - 14 = 5

answer is end
