Hey there!

The power to which a number is raised is called Exponent of the number.

If a variable is raised to a power, then it's called exponent of the variable.

Coefficient of the variable is the number by which the variable raised to power was multiplied.

Here, In -y³

It can be written as -1 ( y) ³

So, The variable of the term is y
Power of the term is 3
Coefficient of the term is -1

Also, The term -y³ can be written as ( -y)³ because there will be change in its meaning.

So , Exponent of the term is 3 as well

Hope helped!
