let x metres be the length of carpet

so, x * 60/100 = 18*15

x= 450m

2)now let's compare all of these by taking LCM (separate for negative and positive terms) because we know that negative terms are smaller than positive terms.

-2/3 = -10/15

-4/5 = -12/15

so -12/15 is smallest

now

7/8=63/72

2/9=16/72

so 7/8 is largest

add 7/8+ (-2/3) = 21/24 - 16/24

= 5/24
