Yadira's mom is buying hot dogs and hot dog buns for the family barbecue. Hot dogs come in packs of 12 and hot dog buns come in packs of 9. The store does not sell parts of a pack and Yadira's mom wants the same number of hot dogs as hot dog buns. For this question we need to find the LCM

But for finding the LCM we  first have to find the first 5 multiples of 12 and 9.

 12, 24, 36, 48, 60. are the first 5 multiples of 12

 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 are the first five multiples of 9

To find the LCM we always have to find a number present in the tables of both the numbers

so the number present in both 12 and 9 are 36

as 12 * 3 = 36 AND

as 9 * 4 = 36
