Yang The Youngest And His Terrible Ear. Everyone in the Yang family is a talented musician except for nine-year-old Yingtao, the youngest Yang. Even after years of violin lessons from his father, Yingtao cannot make beautiful music.

Yang the Youngest is a story about a chineese family who had csm to America. Story revolved aroung Yangtao Yang and his brothers and sisters who reacted differently in their new school. Yang felt a disadvantage that he had joined the school in mid year where children already know each other well where as he also did not knew english which worsen the condition more.
The American kids used to walk harder and fast due to which Yang used to move side by the wall. He felt himself similar in pool of China where he used to swim only in corner and did not go in mid due to fear of big boys who splashed water around like sharks. He soon got collided with a boy. The boy gave him support and pulled him up, appolagising his mistake. Soon Yang too started walking faster and stamped his feet harder as he could but his parent were not happy with Yang for this behaviour as they thought Yang had became rough.
Yang realized that the customs of America were different from China. Such as when the teacher entered in class, he stood up because children in China used to give their respect to teacher in this way but in America there was no such rule so teacher felt Yang needed something while other children laughed on him.
Yang's third sister was helpful for him as she was one who have company to him in America. She also did not found difficulty in making friend because even before she knew much engilsh she filled her gaps with smile.
Second Sister frlt lonliest as there was no one to applaud he beauty like in China and she was not accompained by many friends too.
So she became cranky and sad. Elder brother was not bothered for Yang as he only cared for Music.
On one day in recess while filling registration, Yang came to know that in America his last name was first so he was Yang Yangtao in America.The teacher made him sit with an asian american whi was from Korea but Yang felt that she would not like him as China had invaded Korea in past. Though the girl helped Yang but they were not too close ever.
One day when Yang was feeling bored, he started playing with his ball pen which was of China with a panda on one side. The pen made him feel of his friends in China,suddenly a boy snatched it and started running.Yand also ran behind him and teacher came infront. Teacher asked the reason for running then Yang felt confused to what pronunciate pen in America as in China they called it 'bi'.He said lamely his teacher that boy had taken his writing stick
Then a tall and freckeled boy told teacher that the boy had taken his pen and boy returned the pen. The boy said the teacher that he was just playing with Yang as he was to cautious about it and teacher went away. The boy asked Yang his name and Yang told that he was also Yang and Yangtao too. The boy stuck confused and the bell rang. The boy told that his name was Mathew Corner and would meet him when school would get over and went away. That day Yang felt himself little less lonely.
