Yash is cutting short pieces of wood from a longer piece. The shorter pieces of wood are 10 cm long, correct to the nearest centimetre, and the whole piece is 1 metre, correct to nearest centimetre.

(a) Show that it may not be possible for him to cut 10 shorter pieces of wood.​

upper bound = 105cm

lower bound =95cm

Short wood is 10cm

Upper bound =10.5cm

Lower bound =9.5

upper bound = 10.5  x 10 = 105cm

lower bound = 9.5  x 10 = 95cm

If the actual length of the wood is 95cm and each short piece of wood is 10.5cm , then it is not possible to cut 10 shorter pieces of wood.
