Answer

In kreb's cycle, FADH₂ is formed in conversation of succinic acid to fumaric acid.

In oxidation - III, succinic acid and FAD converts to fumaric acid and FADH₂ with the help of succinic dehydrogenase.

 \sf succinic \: acid + FDH \xrightarrow{succinic \: dehydrogenase} Fumaric \: acid + FADH_2

FADH means reduced flavin adenine dinucleotide. One molecule of FADH₂ produces 2 molecules of ATP.

The last product of citric acid cycle is two carbon dioxide molecules, one GTP, three NADH and one FADH₂.

Know more :

  • Citric acid cycle is also known as Kreb's cycle or tricarboxylic acid cycle.
  • This cycle was discovered by Hans krebs.
  • Kreb's cycle occurs only under aerobic conditions.
  • This is found in the matrix of Mitochondria which bis located in the inner membrane of the Mitochondria.
