Number of pages read on second day = 2/5

When did he he read more?

4/7 , 2/5

LCM = 35

4/7 = 20/35

2/5 = 14/35

∵, 20/35 > 14/35
∴ 4/7 > 2/5

We can also do it by cross multiplication:

So, 4×5 or 2×7
        20  >  14

∴, he reads more on the first day.
