I have been to the election booth to cast my vote with my elder brother. He is a journalist who is always fond acknowledging things. He has guided me through the process of election in the booth. He has explained about everything in the booth, from what they are and what is the reason for them to be at the booth.

Dear Diary:
Today I accompanied my brother I went to cast my vote. The polling booth was just a few hundred meters away from my home. I carried along with me the vote details given to me by a worker of a political party. My voting number and personal details were written on the voting chit.
Outside and inside the polling were policemen for security purpose. I was asked not to carry my mobile phone inside the polling booth. I had to stand in a queue for a while. When my turn came, I was asked to get inside the room where an EVM had been kept in a kiosk. The polling inspectors checked my voting number and personal details on the voting chit. After matching the details on the electoral register, they allowed me to go inside the kiosk where I pressed the button. A permanent mark was also put on my finger. My brother also followed the same procedure. And within half an hour we came back. That’s all dear diary. Good night.
