SUB:- Insensitive Use of Loudspeakers
Sir/Madam,
I am a regular reader of the columns of your esteemed daily. I would like to draw your attention towards the reckless usage of loudspeakers in housing complexes and societies.
The residents of Ganga Apartments have filed numerous complaints at the nearest police station against a group of rash teenagers who have been playing party songs from 11pm every single day on the rooftop of their apartment, with the loudspeakers blaring over the entire complex. The police, however, have not taken any such action, since they view this as an act of immaturity and not recklessness. Moreover, similar cases have been filed in other localities and housing societies across Delhi itself. This has posed as a serious issue for the residents living nearby, especially for the elderly, and people suffering from heart diseases. The ban on loudspeakers from 10pm to 6pm should be made stringent enough, so that people understand that it is a punishable offense to use loudspeakers at the expense of their neighbours.
I request you to publish this letter in your newspaper so that this reaches the concerned authority.
Thank you.
With regards,
Ajit Kolatkar
