Method:-Water dissolution, filtration, and evaporation:
Sodium chloride is easily soluble in water, while sand does not dissolve in water. To separate out sodium chloride from sand, one can dissolve the mixture of sodium chloride and sand in water. Heating and stirring will speed up the process of sodium chloride dissolution in water. The sand will settle down at the bottom of the container and can be filtered out from the liquid phase, using a filter paper, piece of cloth, etc. Finally, the sodium chloride can be obtained by evaporating the water from the liquid phase (water containing sodium chloride in it) by boiling it at 100 degrees Celsius.

by adding suitable solvent.
by adding water to it sodium chloride dissolves in it while sand remains undissolved in it. Now by the process of filtration we get sand on filter paper and sodium chloride solution as filtrate now by the process of crystallization we get pure crystals of sodium chloride
