Dear Sir,
Subject: Aged parents in old age homes.
Through the columns of your esteemed newspaper I, Deepika would like to express my views on the act of sending aged parents to old age homes.
It is nothing but merely saddening to witness people sending their own parents to old age homes because of their lack of desire to take care of them and the strong appeal to take care of their own lives without being considerate about their parents opinions and feelings.
Long gone are those days when Grand parents were a part of every child's life. It is statistically proven that children who are close with their grandparents tend to be more compassionate and generous towards their fellow mates and the people around them when they grow up. The same applies to their adults who in favor decide to take care of their parents nevertheless.
People who are being sent to old age homes miss out on so many occasions as a family. They are expected to stay at the homes even during festivals, mercilessly, by their children. Census informs us that these old aged people when asked for their worries, they claim that they wish they were with their children and grandchildren.
Since people nowadays rely more on educational and logical facts more than emotional theories, they should be made aware of the psychological problems these old aged people undergo. This will majority solve this act of sending people to homes.
As rightly said, it's always crucial to remember, "What goes in, comes back".
