take the material give ( either steel or soft iron) i recommend steel as soft iron get magnetized. Use the given insulated copper wire to coil around the steel.
NOTE:- power of your magnet depends on the power of the battery and the number of turns of the insulated copper
average temporary magnets have an insulated copper coil with a turn of 200 times.
now use insulation tape to cover the whole setup
use the given battery to power the temporary magnet
