if the side of the square is x.

area if the square =

 {x}^{2}

Now required area

 = 2 {x }^{2}  \\ so \: side \: of \: required \: square \:  =  \sqrt{2} x

which is the diagonal length of the given square.

so we have to draw a square with siade equal to the diagonal of the given square

we will get the new square double in Area by using diagonal of square as side of new square

Step-by-step explanation:

Let say a Square is given of side a

Area = a²

if Double the Size mean Area is doubled

Area of new square = 2a²

Side of new square = √2a

Diagonal of Square = √2a

Using compass Take width = Diagonal of given Square

& Draw a square

we will get the new square double in Area
